Nowadays it is quite rare that people pause for a moment to be aware of what they do as a matter of routine: breathing. Still, the surrounding air is responsible for life, growth and a feeling sensation of the world. Air is one of the basic requirements as well as basis of human existence.

But if asked about the impact of air, air quality or even health aspects, many things remain unsaid. It is quite difficult to describe air with words – it is simply not comprehensible. While the towns located at the sea are praised for their "refreshing air", the climatic advantages of a low mountain range seem to be negligible.

However, north of the health climate towns Koenigstein and Falkenstein and the highest located community in the Taunus Mountains, Schmitten, pure air converts to a curative environment, and breathing becomes medicine. While wooded hillsides alternate with charming landscapes, the Taunus shows one of its most attractive sides.
