Round Tour
On the Path
The round tour Saalburg takes you on a 2,4 kilometer long route in the beautiful Taunus Mountains, around the Saalburg Fort. It takes about 45 minutes to walk the tour. Starting point is in the southeast corner of the fort (parking area, near pedestrian bridge crossing B 456). Sturdy foot wear recommended. Visitors find archeological monuments and reconstructions surrounding the Roman Fort on their walk.
By the Wayside
Six boards in German, English and French keep you informed: The first three boards illustrate relics from Roman times: Roman entrenchments, Limes Passageway and Limes. Three more boards explain reconstructions of archeological monuments from Roman times that have been erected during the rebuilding of the Saalburg around 1900: Model entrenchments, Jupiter pillar and Mithras shrine.
